Houston Wilderness Exhibit
In partnership with Houston Wilderness, the club has brought a beautiful exhibit to campus. It is located at the Rec Center and will be on display from November 10 -12. Please be sure you stop by.
Houston Wilderness has developed a traveling exhibit that details the 10 eco-regions encircling the 24-county greater Houston area. These regions include Bayou Wilderness, Big Thicket, Colombia Bottomlands, Coastal Marches, Estuaries and Bays, Gulf of Mexico, Piney Woods, Post Oak Savannah, Prairies Systems, and Trinity Bottomlands. The display, which was designed by the award-winning Atlas of Biodiversity designer, Andy Dearwater, includes descriptions of each eco-region, as well as large format photographs of wildlife from the Houston area that are featured in the Atlas.
The exhibit has previously been displayed at the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau; JPMorgan Chase Bank in Downtown Houston; 2 Allen Center; Hobby Airport; the Houston Center; and is currently on display at the Missouri City, City Hall building. We are hoping to continue rotation throughout Houston for the duration of 2008 and 2009.
The beautifully designed exhibit will raise awareness of Houston’s unique nature and outdoor recreation opporutnities and is an excellent tool for showcasing Houston’s natural beauty.
